Your recordings never pass through our servers, because we don't have any that touch them. Transcription happens on your device. Optional backup uses Apple's own iCloud, and with Advanced Data Protection on, it's end-to-end encrypted, meaning not even Apple can listen. Not even us.

No account is required to record and keep your work. Everything you make lives on your device and exports as files you own outright.
On your iPhone. They don't pass through our servers, and we have no access to your recordings. Optional backup uses your own iCloud, and with Advanced Data Protection enabled, it's end-to-end encrypted. There is no company holding your recordings, which means there is no company that can stop holding them.
Turn on iCloud backup and your recordings restore to a new device. And because every keepsake exports as an ordinary file, we recommend keeping a copy or two elsewhere, like a drive or a family member's device, as a matter of good practice.

That's the whole point. We deliberately use open, non-proprietary formats with no dependency on our company or servers, so your keepsake keeps working long after any single app, phone, or platform is gone. Nothing about it expires, because there was never a license or a subscription for it to depend on.
